Kiwi
Moderate to high sensitivity to the deficiency of: Ca, Fe, Mn, Zn
Low to moderately sensitivity to the deficiency of: Mg, B
(the sensitivity to the deficiencies of these nutrients can vary in function of the variety)
A frequently observed problem in the cultivation of Kiwis is the excessive application of nitrogen. More balanced and more reasoned fertilization is absolutely necessary. Foliar fertilization can be a useful tool to reach this objective.
BMS Micro-Nutrients proposes a product range which allows you to make foliar programs which assure an optimized nutrition of the crop.
Vegetative cycle
The vegetative cycle of Kiwis last between 8 and 9 months.
During the first months, before flowering, the development of the foliage is important, which allows to make application during this period of for example boron (Chelal B). This element plays an important role in the cell division, the formation and the fertility of the pollen and the flowers, the homogeneity and the quality of the fruits.
From the fruit set and during the thickening of the fruits, products such as Fructol NF and Chelal Noor can accompany the maturation of the fruit by avoiding interruptions in the growth.
To obtain a well reasoned fertilization of the macro elements, it is important to avoid any excess availability of nitrogen, which will provoke an excessive vegetative development and reduce the shell life and storage life of the fruits.
To improve the storage life of the fruits application of calcium in the chelated from with Chelal Omnical are recommended just after the fall of the petals, at the beginning of the fruit set, when the cellular division in the fruits is very active. This way the applied calcium can immediately be incorporated in the cell walls.
Iron chlorosis
The Iron chlorosis is also a frequently observed problem in Kiwi, above all in alkaline soils. Our foliar program with Chelal RD NF and Chelal Fe makes it easy to control this deficiency. Treatments can be realized preventive or from the appearance of the first symptoms.
